Nauru police arrest protest organiser because despite media censorship and misinformation, the world can see and hear the refugees' clear demands [Refugee Action Coalition, Sydney - 5/6/16]:
Nauruan police have arrested a 39-year-old Iranian asylum seeker, Hamid Nadaf, on trumped up charges of “threatening behaviour.”
Hamid was arrested on Friday afternoon, 3 June, around 4pm, near the family compound RPC3, and is now being held in the Nauru jail.
Hamid, his wife and eight-year-old son have been in detention on Nauru since February 2014, and he has played a very active role in the daily protests in the Nauru family compound RPC3, since 20 March this year.
The police refused to allow Hamid’s wife to see him yesterday, Saturday, 4 June and have told his wife that he will be held and brought before the court on 13 June.
Asylum seekers and refugees on the island see his arrest as a clear case of victimisation and an attempt to stifle the daily protests that have spread to refugee compounds across the island.
Today will be the 78th day of protest in the family camp.
Protests on Nauru yesterday declared that Hamid was innocent and called for his release.
Police say they are acting on a complaint by a Nauruan citizen who felt ‘threatened’ when they read the contents of a letter that supposedly fell from Hamid’s pocket when he was riding a motor-bike on Friday.
The supposed letter has not been disclosed and in any case Hamid is not able to write in English.
Hamid’s arrest seems to be part of new police tactic to intimidate the protests, now that “attempting suicide” is no longer a criminal offence.
An Iraqi man was arrested, in similar circumstances to Hamid’s, on 6 May, on the basis of a complaint to Nauruan police that the man had made threats to “set fire” or “make an explosion” on Nauru.
“Hamid’s arrest has angered asylum seekers and refugees on the island and has ensured the protests will grow louder and spread further,” said Ian Rintoul, spokesperson for the Refugee Action Coalition.
“It has also exposed the lack of the rule of law on Nauru, with the police acting as an unaccountable extension of the Nauruan and Australian governments. Hamid and the Iraqi man should be freed immediately.”
Could Australia's silent human rights establishment please explain how illegally detained refugees #StaySafeStayStrong while they being subjected to constant physical and psychological attack?
Behrouz Boochani [5/6/16]:
Last night the PNG police took an Iranian refugee by force from the internet class to police station.
Wilson security uses police against the refugees every day and we can say that they are controlling people by police.
They called police last night because they claimed that the Iranian refugee was using internet while his name was not in the list of people who were allowed to use Internet last night.
He became sick and did not return to the centre yet.
Also a Pakistani refugee claimed that yesterday two Australian officers from Wilson security pushed and offended him saying " you are all our slaves and you must follow our rules ,if you don't want to be our slaves go back to your countries".
The Pakistani refugee made a complaint against them.
I wonder why the PNG police takes people to from prison and does not arrest the Australian officers.
It is unclear that who is responsible for us and how we can send those officers who push people and punch them to the court.
I think this system has completely collapsed and the Australian gov should act and prevent big problems that will happen in the future

We are sitting ducks ---> Australian politicians single out Trump, as the region's ruling class prepare for US backed war [The Straits Times - 5/6/16]:
... But Dr Ng [Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen] stressed that the war on terror is not a war on Islam.
"Mr Lee reminded then that 'it is necessary to emphasise that the war against terrorism is not a war against Islam'...This battle is against terrorists groups that “have hijacked Islam as their driving force and have given it a virulent twist… [We] must support tolerant non-militant Muslims so that they will prevail,” he said.

US Defence Secretary Ashton Carter and his counterparts from Britain, France, Canada, and India have all weighed in on the dispute at the forum.
In speech after speech, they have called for China to respect international laws and freedom of navigation and overflight in the South China Sea.
Dr Carter warned that China is erecting a "Great Wall of self-isolation" and said the US will stand with its allies in the region to ensure freedom of navigation and overflight in the South China Sea.
China's representative at the Dialogue, Admiral Sun Jianguo, has hit back at the criticisms, saying that China respects international laws and is merely upholding its sovereignty in the South China Sea.
He also slammed the US, allies with the Philippines, of double standards and irresponsible behaviour in the waterway. ...
